Environmental authorities in Iran seize weapons and arrest poachers

Environmental protection units in Lorestan and Astara provinces have conducted operations to combat illegal hunting and protect wildlife.

In Lorestan, authorities seized 13 hunting weapons across several counties, including Poldokhtar, Azna, Aligudarz, and Ma'moulan. During these patrols, officials also discovered the carcasses of six wild partridges and two wild pigeons. Legal cases have been filed against the identified violators, who have been referred to judicial authorities.

In the border town of Astara, eight poachers were arrested in collaboration with police forces during operations in the Lundvil wildlife refuge and surrounding open areas. Eight hunting weapons were confiscated during this operation. Local officials emphasized the importance of cooperation between environmental and law enforcement agencies to preserve regional biodiversity.
