Environmental cleanup efforts organized by volunteers in Baldenich and Castelsardo

Volunteers in Italy conducted environmental cleanup operations in both the Baldenich neighborhood and the coastal town of Castelsardo.

In Baldenich, the Baldenich24 Neighborhood Committee organized a second ecological day on September 12. Participants focused on cleaning green areas and public spaces, including Via Vittorio Veneto, Parco Millennium, and various squares. The effort resulted in numerous bags of waste, notably including three full bags consisting entirely of cigarette butts.

In Castelsardo, the eighth edition of the ‘Fondali Puliti’ event took place on September 13. Approximately forty volunteers supported divers in recovering waste from the seabed. The operation successfully retrieved 50 fishing nets and 150 kilograms of plastic. The initiative was coordinated by the Municipality of Castelsardo with support from the Coast Guard and local maritime groups.
