Environmental cleanup initiatives underway in Gliwice and along the Ina River

Environmental cleanup initiatives are taking place across Poland. In Gliwice, students from 27 schools and kindergartens, along with local residents and district council members, are participating in the annual ‘World Cleanup’ campaign. The city's Environmental Department is coordinating the effort, providing waste bags and gloves, and managing the removal of collected refuse from designated areas around schools and residential neighborhoods.

In a separate event marking World Rivers Day, the Rewilding Pomerania Foundation organized a cleanup of the Ina River. Approximately 40 participants used kayaks to navigate over 12 kilometers of the river to collect litter. The initiative aims to address river pollution and promote ecological education regarding water retention and the mitigation of hydrological droughts.
