Environmental conservation initiatives launched in Cabo San Lucas and Navojoa

In Cabo San Lucas, municipal delegate Karina de la O Uribe has called for increased environmental awareness and collective action to protect natural resources. During a ceremony for the National Conservation Week, she highlighted the need to address resource exploitation and rising temperatures, specifically emphasizing the protection of coastal ecosystems, beaches, and sand resources.

De la O Uribe recommended practical changes such as water reuse, proper waste separation, and reducing disposable products. She urged both citizens and public servants to lead by example to ensure the well-being of future generations.

Simultaneously, the University of Sonora’s Navojoa campus held its ninth recycling day. Led by the Sustainability Commission, the event aimed to foster responsible waste management habits among students and staff. The initiative is part of the university’s 2025–2030 Institutional Development Plan, which seeks to integrate environmental, social, and economic sustainability into academic and research frameworks.
