Environmental discussions held in Dominican Republic and Argentina

In the Dominican Republic, the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for the Defense of the Environment and Natural Resources (Proedemaren) organized a forum titled “Let's Talk About Environment and Society” in Mao, Valverde province. The event, held at the Technological University of Santiago (UTESA), brought together over 230 representatives from religious, judicial, and academic sectors to discuss environmental protection, legal frameworks, and the moral duty to care for the planet.

Separately, Luis Carvajal Núñez, director of the Environmental Commission at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), called for a reform of the mining model in the Dominican Republic. He argued that while mining is necessary, the current approach must be adjusted to ensure activities occur in appropriate locations, respect environmental laws, and prioritize community welfare over corporate interests.

In Argentina, the sixth edition of the Environmental Fair took place in Chascomús. Organized by the District Education Office and the local Commune, the event focused on promoting responsible production and consumption habits. The fair featured educational projects, research on microplastics, waste management proposals, and local sustainable entrepreneurship.
