Environmental enforcement actions reported in Paraná and Mato Grosso

In Antônio Olinto, Paraná, a farmer was fined R$ 84,000 by the Environmental Military Police for the unauthorized suppression of approximately 11.2 hectares of native vegetation. The inspection, triggered by an anonymous tip, revealed that the cleared area was in a medium stage of regeneration. The individual faces both the fine and criminal investigation for environmental damages.

In Aripuanã, Mato Grosso, the Environmental Protection Military Police Battalion (BPMPA) seized two shotguns and five cartridges during 'Operação Abafa Amazônia 2/2026'. The operation, aimed at combating deforestation, illegal mining, and fires, identified deforested areas near the Nossa Senhora da Glória community. During the patrol, officers discovered one firearm inside a rustic structure and a second firearm discarded by an unidentified individual on a motorcycle.
