Environmental incidents reported in Prezid and Belgrade

In Prezid, Croatia, Mayor Antonio Dražović has raised concerns regarding an ecological incident involving a firefighting exercise. During the drill, firefighters attempted to extinguish a fire in three abandoned houses, which reportedly resulted in the burning of asbestos. The mayor stated that authorities are investigating whether strict regulations for handling asbestos were followed and suggested that firefighters may have been used as tools in this environmental mishap.

Additionally, the municipality reported fecal contamination of the Mlake spring caused by the dumping of septic tank contents, an issue brought to light by ViK Rijeka.

In Belgrade, Serbia, reports of graffiti reappearing in a pedestrian underpass at Zeleni Venac were identified as false. Following a citizen-led initiative to paint the passage, images circulated on social media showing the walls covered in graffiti again, but field checks confirmed the walls remain clean. The images are believed to have been generated using artificial intelligence.
