Enyimba coach Lawrence Ukaegbu signals recovery after club crisis

Enyimba head coach Lawrence Ukaegbu has declared that the club is “back on track” following an early-season crisis that saw the team drop to 18th place in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Ukaegbu attributed the recent struggles to a misunderstanding regarding internal roles and responsibilities, which negatively impacted player performance. He noted that club chairman Kanu Nwankwo intervened to resolve the situation and galvanize the squad.

Despite their low standing, Ukaegbu expressed confidence in the team's ability to compete for major honors, citing the quality of the squad and the experience of Cameroonian Technical Advisor Emmanuel Deutsch. The coach stated that even if the club does not win the league, they aim to secure a position to compete on the continent next season.
