Enyimba hosts 3SC seeking first NPFL win

Enyimba seeks its first victory of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season as it hosts Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) in Aba this Wednesday.

Currently at the bottom of the table, the nine-time league champions have secured only one point from their opening four matches. Their recent form includes a 2-1 loss to Niger Tornadoes and a scoreless draw against Kano Pillars. In contrast, 3SC sits in 16th place with six points from four games.

The match was originally scheduled for Matchday 2 but was postponed to allow 3SC to focus on their CAF Confederation Cup fixture against CS Sfaxien. While historical home results in Aba favor Enyimba, including a 3-0 win in December 2025, the pressure remains high to avoid falling further behind league leaders Barau FC and momentum-building teams like Rangers and Plateau United.

Technical adviser Emmanuel Deutsch has maintained a calm outlook despite the slow start, stating there is “no fire on the mountain,” but emphasized the necessity of a win for the home supporters.
