Enzo Cassella, influential Venezuelan media executive, dies at 78

Vincenzo ‘Enzo’ Cassella Marino, a prominent Venezuelan broadcaster, producer, and media executive, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the age of 78.

Cassella was a significant figure in the development of Venezuelan radio and television. He held high-level management positions, most recently serving as the Vice President of Production and Programming for the FM Center and AM Center circuits. His career spanned several decades, beginning in the 1970s at Radio Tropical 990 AM and including work with Televisora Nacional Canal 5.

In addition to broadcasting, Cassella was influential in the music industry. He managed record labels such as Polydor Records and Top Hits, and served as Vice President of Promotions for Sonorodven. He was involved in the promotion of several notable artists, including José Luis Rodríguez, Rudy Márquez, Ricardo Montaner, and Guillermo Dávila.

Prior to his death, Cassella had been receiving treatment in intensive care. His family confirmed his passing through a statement expressing gratitude for his life and passion.
