Enzo Mignosi to present mafia-themed novel in Catania
Journalist Enzo Mignosi will present his new novel, “Senza onore. 70 anni di mafia, misteri, intrighi,” at the Navarria Crifò Library in Catania on Thursday, October 22. The event, held in collaboration with Memoria & Futuro, explores seventy years of Sicilian mafia history through a narrative lens.
The book traces the evolution of Cosa Nostra, beginning with the 1957 summit at Palermo’s Hotel delle Palme between American and Sicilian bosses. It details the power struggles between the Greco and La Barbera clans, the eventual rise of the Corleonesi—including figures such as Totò Riina, Bernardo Provenzano, and Leoluca Bagarella—and the subsequent violence that left 1,500 dead.
Additionally, the work covers the emergence of the anti-mafia pool featuring Rocco Chinnici, Giovanni Falcone, and Paolo Borsellino, the role of first informants like Tommaso Buscetta, and the era of massacres in the early 1990s. The narrative also addresses historical judicial mysteries and institutional cover-ups.
