Enzo Monteiro returns to Santos after rescinding South Korean contract

Bolivian striker Enzo Monteiro has returned to Santos after rescinding his contract with South Korean club Chungbuk Cheongju. The 22-year-old had been on loan in the K-League 2, but lost playing time following a change in the team's coaching staff.

Personal reasons also influenced the decision to terminate the loan, which was originally set to run until December; Monteiro's wife recently gave birth, and the couple wished to be near family in Brazil.

Despite his return, Monteiro is not currently in the plans of Santos manager Cuca and will train separately from the main group. Additionally, he cannot be registered to play in the Campeonato Brasileiro as the CBF registration deadline has passed. Monteiro remains under contract with Santos until the end of 2027, and the player and club directors are expected to meet at the end of the season to determine his future.
