E.ON launches Czech Republic's first 600 kW ultra-fast charging station
E.ON Drive Infrastructure has launched the first public ultra-fast charging station in the Czech Republic capable of delivering up to 600 kW. Located in Dolní Dvořiště near the Austrian border, the facility is strategically positioned on a major transit route to serve passenger cars, buses, and electric heavy-duty trucks.
The station offers three distinct power levels: 300 kW, 400 kW, and the record-breaking 600 kW. While current passenger vehicle technology may not yet fully utilize the 600 kW capacity, the infrastructure is designed to accommodate the next generation of electric vehicles and heavy transport. Theoretically, a standard electric vehicle could charge from 10% to 80% capacity in approximately 8 to 15 minutes at these speeds.
To support the high power requirements, E.ON constructed a dedicated, reinforced transformer station at the site. The project was expanded from its original design to include heavy-duty vehicle capabilities following demand from drivers on the Prague–České Budějovice–Austria route.
