E.ON Romania surpasses 10,500 homes with solar, Clearway Energy reports 16% Q2 growth

E.ON Energie Romania installed more than 1,200 residential photovoltaic systems in the first half of 2026, pushing the total number of homes equipped with solar to over 10,500 – a 30% increase compared with the same period in 2025. Household ownership of solar panels rose from 8% to 11% in one year, and storage batteries are now included in 91% of the installations. The company’s study shows that 17% of Romanians plan to purchase a PV system within the next 12 months, while 15% intend to add a storage solution. “The 30% increase … shows that interest in photovoltaic energy remains strong even in the absence of a new financing session,” said Claudia Griech, General Manager of E.ON Energie Romania.

Clearway Energy’s renewables and storage portfolio generated 5,882 GWh of solar power in the first six months of 2026, up from 4,718 GWh a year earlier. In Q2 2026 the company sold 3,585 GWh of solar electricity, a 16% year‑on‑year rise, bringing total renewables and storage generation to 6,867 GWh. Clearway reported Q2 net income of US$30 million and adjusted EBITDA of US$409 million. Craig Cornelius, Clearway’s president and CEO, highlighted new contracts covering more than 2 GW for projects slated for commercial operation between 2027 and 2030, expanding the company’s pipeline to 13.5 GW.
