EOPYY expands physiotherapy coverage for children and adolescents

The National Organization for the Provision of Health Services (EOPYY) has announced a significant expansion of physiotherapy coverage for children and adolescents within the framework of Special Education. This decision follows a revision of the Annex to Article 42, which aims to benefit a larger pediatric population by including more diagnostic codes and ICD-10 classifications.

The update is the result of scientific recommendations and systematic interventions by the Panhellenic Physiotherapy Association, in collaboration with the academic community specializing in pediatric physiotherapy. The initiative seeks to eliminate existing clinical and administrative inconsistencies, ensuring timely and adequate access to therapy that meets the actual needs of various age groups.

Petros Lymperidis, President of the Panhellenic Physiotherapy Association, welcomed the development, noting that it addresses the real therapeutic needs of children and restores clinical standards. He credited the sensitivity of EOPYY leadership, including Administrator Athanasios Zamani and Strategic Planning Director Spyros Goulas, in addressing the issue.
