EOW Kashmir files charge-sheet over fake education department orders

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of the Crime Branch J&K has filed a charge-sheet against five individuals for allegedly creating and using fraudulent appointment, transfer, and relieving orders within the Education Department. The charge-sheet was submitted to the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Budgam.

The investigation began after the Director of School Education Kashmir reported that three individuals had joined as teachers in specific zones based on purported transfer and adjustment orders. EOW officials determined that the documents contained forged signatures, order numbers, and dispatch numbers. Verification revealed that the Directorate's order book had been closed on December 31, 2019, rendering the numbers on the documents fictitious.

Authorities identified the accused as Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Shakir Gull, Mohammad Ayaz Rather, Sheikh Ruhail Ahmad, and Tanveer Ahmad Rather. Investigators found that the three individuals had never been officially appointed to the Education Department. Bhat and Gull allegedly acted as facilitators, with Bhat reportedly providing the means to fabricate and print the forged official documents.
