EP Equipment pivots toward task-based warehouse automation

EP Equipment is shifting its focus toward automation to address labor shortages and increasing logistics volumes. The company is moving away from defining machinery by its type—such as forklifts or pallet trucks—and is instead defining equipment by the specific tasks it performs, including loading, internal transport, storage, and order picking.

CEO John He noted that warehouses are particularly suitable for robotization due to their controlled environments and predictable, repetitive processes. The company’s strategy involves integrating new hardware, software, and AI to develop specialized automated solutions rather than simply making existing forklifts autonomous.
