Epa Colombia transferred to Picaleña prison in Ibagué

Influencer and entrepreneur Daneidy Barrera Rojas, known as Epa Colombia, has been transferred from the Police Carabineros School in Bogotá to the Picaleña prison complex in Ibagué. The transfer occurred on Friday, August 7, shortly after Abelardo De la Espriella assumed the presidency of Colombia.

The move is part of a broader operation by the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute (INPEC) involving the transfer of 117 high-profile detainees to different facilities across the country. The decision follows investigations into alleged irregularities regarding Barrera Rojas's previous confinement in Bogotá, which reportedly included access to luxury items such as five cell phones and a high-end vehicle, as well as undergoing aesthetic procedures while in custody.

Barrera Rojas is serving a sentence of 63 months and 15 days for vandalism committed against a TransMilenio station during the 2019 protests. Following the transfer, she shared a message on Instagram describing it as a "difficult day" and stating, “I trust that in the end the truth always finds its way.”
