Epalinges opens new Vaud Cantonal Police station and training center
The Vaud Cantonal Police officially opened a new gendarmerie station in Epalinges on September 1, 2026. Located at Route de la Croix-Blanche 42, the facility is designed to strengthen police presence in a growing region and serves as a training center for new officers.
The station is responsible for seven municipalities: Belmont-sur-Lausanne, Epalinges, Lutry, Montpreveyres, Paudex, Pully, and Savigny. While handling local and regional criminal investigations, the staff will also provide community policing and intervention services specifically for Epalinges and Montpreveyres.
The facility hosts eight gendarmes and four trainees. To facilitate practical learning, four experienced officers will mentor the trainees during their six-month internships. A notable feature of the new station is the shared workspace and service counter with the Epalinges municipal public safety department, which includes a secretary and four security assistants.
