EPCG Solar gradnja builds 40 MW solar plant at Kapino polje

EPCG Solar gradnja is currently constructing a large-scale solar power plant complex at Kapino polje near Nikšić, Montenegro. The project consists of multiple phases with a total capacity of approximately 40 MW.

Work is currently underway on three specific units—L1, L2, and B1—which provide a combined 20 MW of capacity. Construction of the B2 unit, another 20 MW, is scheduled to begin shortly. To date, the installation of structures for the first three phases is complete, and the first 4 MW of solar panels have been installed. Upcoming tasks include the assembly of transformer stations and other electrical installations.

The solar panel structures are being manufactured at the Željezara plant, highlighting the involvement of state-owned enterprises in the production process. This initiative is part of a broader effort by Elektroprivreda Crne Gore to increase the share of renewable energy in the national grid and support Montenegro’s green transition goals.

In addition to large-scale plants, EPCG Solar gradnja has completed over 11,000 rooftop solar installations through the Solari 3000+ and 5000+ projects, totaling roughly 110 MW of installed capacity. The company continues to work on other major projects, including solar plants at Krupac, Ozrinići, and Štedim.
