BH Fanaticosi supporters visit girl targeted in Žepče bullying incident

A religious-based bullying incident involving a young girl in Žepče, Bosnia and Herzegovina, has sparked significant public outcry. The incident occurred during a school excursion to Matinski Vis, where a student wearing a hijab was reportedly targeted by peers who pulled the scarf from her head.

The girl's mother, Denisa Bečić, has raised serious allegations against the local school, claiming that Bosniak children face ongoing harassment based on religious and national identity. She further alleged that school officials attempted to pressure parents into silence following the event. The administration of Osnovna škola Žepče has denied these claims of cover-ups, stating they are treating the matter with seriousness.

In response to the incident, the supporters group BH Fanaticosi visited the girl to offer support and gifts. The group issued a statement condemning the act, emphasizing that such behavior should not be dismissed as mere “childish mischief” and highlighting the responsibility of educational institutions and families in preventing intolerance. As a gesture of solidarity, the group has invited the girl to attend an upcoming match of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team.
