Argentina utility companies announce widespread power outages

Multiple electricity distributors in Argentina have announced various service interruptions due to scheduled maintenance, infrastructure improvements, and emergency repairs following severe weather.

In Córdoba, EPEC has scheduled several outages for the weekend affecting Córdoba capital, La Calera, Villa Carlos Paz, and San Roque. These works include maintenance on primary and secondary distribution networks and transformer station tasks. In Bahía Blanca, EDES reported a planned outage in the microcenter to improve network conditions. Additionally, EDEN will perform works in Roque Pérez affecting several neighborhoods.

In the Gran Resistencia region, Secheep has deployed emergency crews from various provincial zones to restore power and mitigate electrical risks caused by heavy rains and the El Niño phenomenon. Meanwhile, in Catamarca, residents in Valle Chico have reported safety concerns regarding a leaning utility pole that the state provider, EC SAPEM, has yet to repair.
