EPFO issues ultimatum to 800 companies for PF registration

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has issued notices to approximately 800 companies in Gautam Buddha Nagar for failing to complete Provident Fund (PF) registration for their employees. An investigation revealed that while PF deductions are being made from salaries, many employees have not been officially enrolled in PF accounts.

The identified businesses span various sectors, including restaurants, manpower suppliers, building contractors, and transport companies. The EPFO has set a deadline of October 31 for these establishments to rectify the situation and ensure all eligible workers are registered.

The department is currently running a campaign to educate both companies and employees regarding PF regulations and rights. The EPFO warned that if compliance is not met by the October 31 deadline, formal action will be initiated against the non-compliant companies.
