EPFO urges members to update UAN portal photo to avoid PF claim delays

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has asked all members to upload a recent passport‑size photograph on the Unified Member Portal (UAN). The photo is required for e‑Nomination and for online verification when filing PF, pension or EDLI claims. Without an updated picture the system may display an "unable to proceed" error, potentially delaying claim settlement.

Members can update the image by logging into the portal with their UAN, navigating to the Profile section, selecting the photo‑change option and uploading a JPEG/PNG file under 100 KB (3.5 cm × 4.5 cm). EPFO also reminds members to keep other details such as Aadhaar, PAN, bank account, mobile number and email current to reduce processing delays.

Failure to maintain an up‑to‑date profile may cause additional paperwork and slower disbursement of provident fund benefits to nominees.
