EPFO warns members to guard against online fraud and fake links

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has issued a warning to its members regarding increasing digital fraud attempts. The organization urged users to remain vigilant against fake links, messages, and emails designed to compromise personal and financial information.

To protect sensitive data such as UAN, Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, and OTPs, the EPFO outlined several security guidelines. Members are advised to visit only the official EPFO website and avoid clicking on unverified links shared via SMS, social media, or email. The organization emphasized that it never requests OTPs, passwords, or personal credentials through phone calls, WhatsApp, or other social media platforms.

Additionally, the EPFO recommends that users carefully verify URLs for spelling variations or unusual domain names before logging in. Members should report any suspicious websites or phishing attempts to the official EPFO helpline or cybersecurity reporting channels.
