EPI and Zofri S.A. partner to boost Tarapacá industrial growth
Executives from Empresa Portuaria Iquique (EPI) and Zofri S.A. have established a joint roadmap to integrate their operations and infrastructure. This strategic alignment aims to boost industrial and commercial growth in the Tarapacá region by optimizing logistics and capturing more foreign trade from the Andean macro-zone.
EPI has proposed a Regional Logistics Policy designed to coordinate decision-makers and infrastructure development. Rubén Castro Hurtado, General Manager of EPI, noted that this policy is intended to serve as a mechanism to combat organized crime and drug trafficking by ensuring cargo flows are properly monitored and controlled as the region develops its port capacities.
