Fortnite confirms Kingdom Hearts crossover for September 17

Epic Games has officially confirmed a major crossover between Fortnite and the Kingdom Hearts franchise, set to launch on September 17, 2026. The collaboration will arrive alongside the Chapter 7 Season 4 v42.20 update.

Sora, the protagonist of the Kingdom Hearts series, will debut as a playable skin featuring his iconic design from Kingdom Hearts II. The Keyblade is expected to appear in-game as both a mythic weapon and a pickaxe, though developers have replaced the traditional Mickey Mouse keychain with a Loot Llama charm.

Teasers from Epic Games suggest the collaboration extends beyond Sora, with characters Riku, Kairi, and Roxas also expected to join the game. To mark the event, the in-game moon is slated to appear heart-shaped. The crossover is part of Fortnite’s current video game-themed season, titled Override.
