Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override announced with major gaming crossovers

Epic Games has officially unveiled the trailer for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, titled ‘Override’, which is scheduled to launch on August 20, 2026. The upcoming season features a massive ‘Gaming Legends’ theme, centered on extensive crossovers with iconic video game franchises.

Confirmed characters and skins include Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow, and Dr. Eggman, alongside Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and Joker from Persona 5. Other notable inclusions feature characters from Mortal Kombat, Tetris, Pac-Man, and Halo. The update also introduces map changes, such as a Green Hill Zone inspired area, and new gameplay mechanics like the Sonic Spin Dash and Tails’ hovering ability.

The season also appears to include a collaboration with Roblox, featuring ‘The Deer’ from 99 Nights in the Forest. This comes despite previous critical comments from Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney regarding Roblox’s market position. The new season will introduce a new Battle Pass and various new Sprites to the game.
