Epik Sanat Tiyatrosu launches new theater group in Defne

Epik Sanat Tiyatrosu, a theater troupe operating in Hatay since 2005, has established a new group called ‘İş Çıkışı Tiyatro’ (After-Work Theater) in the Defne district. The initiative aims to make theater accessible to everyone by bringing together individuals from various professions to practice the arts after their working hours.

The program includes workshops on acting, body language, voice, improvisation, and group dynamics. Participants work toward developing a shared language on stage, with plans to prepare a theater play at the conclusion of the workshop process.

General Art Director Gökhan Altunöz emphasized that the project is more than just technical training, stating, ‘Our after-work is also a bit of a return to ourselves.’ The initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the troupe to revitalize culture and arts in the region following the February 6 earthquakes.
