Epirus Environment Committee to review poultry farm expansions

The Environment, Spatial Planning & Development Committee of the Epirus Region is scheduled to meet on Monday, October 19, 2026. The agenda includes the validation of previous meeting minutes and several reviews of Environmental Impact Studies (EIS) for poultry production projects.

Key items for discussion include the expansion of an existing poultry unit by Michas Monoprosopi AE in Arta, increasing capacity from 13,860 to 40,000 birds. Additionally, the committee will review a proposal for a new poultry unit in the Arachthos district by Ioannis Karakousis, and an EIS for a large-scale poultry unit in the Vlacherna area operated by Ptinotrofikes Kosta Monoprosopi AE, which has a capacity of 81,600 birds.
