Epirus Region approves multiple infrastructure and road projects

The Regional Committee of Epirus has finalized the selection of contractors for eight infrastructure projects across the region. These projects include road network improvements in Preveza, maintenance of provincial roads between Salora and Koronisia, and urgent repairs to road subsidence on the Arta – Rodaugi – Skoupa – Dafnoti section. Other approved works involve the procurement of materials for stable facilities, repairs to the Holy Church of Agios Charalambos in Neochori, and drainage cleaning in Limeni.

Additionally, the committee approved the commencement of seven new projects, including road bypass improvements in Lavdani and subsidence repairs on the Egnatia Odos from Perama.

Regarding major transport axes, Epirus Governor Alexandros Kachramanis addressed the progress of road connections between Preveza, Igoumenitsa, and the Ionian Odos. While the study for the Preveza – Ionian Odos bypass near Filippiada is complete, with the section toward Stefani expected by October, the Preveza – Igoumenitsa connection remains complex. The Regional Authority is currently in discussions with the Ministry of Infrastructure to potentially undertake the study for the coastal section from the undersea tunnel exit to Karteri.
