Episode 3 of Japanese drama “Detective Remains” airs on TV Asahi

The third episode of the TV Asahi Friday night drama “Detective Remains” (original title 名探偵のままでいて) was broadcast on 31 July. The series follows elementary‑school teacher Kaede (played by Aiko Yoshikawa) who brings everyday mysteries to her grandfather, a former school principal suffering from Lewy‑body dementia (portrayed by Eiji Okuda). In this episode Kaede’s colleague Iwata is arrested after witnessing a stabbing on a riverside promenade, prompting the grandfather to deduce that the missing “walking‑mom” may be struggling with alcohol dependence.

The episode also reveals a new promotional event: a live recording of the “Detective Remains” podcast scheduled for 5 August, featuring the main cast and additional behind‑the‑scenes commentary.
