Epixode hosts Highlife concert in Essen to fund Ghana youth library and music school

On 14 August, the cultural organization Epixode hosted an evening of Ghanaian Highlife music in Essen, Germany. The event, held at Sibyllastraße 15 and open to the public on a donation basis, featured selected vinyl records and stories about the genre’s history and its key musicians.

Funds raised were earmarked for Epixode’s WEKU project, which aims to build a children’s library and a music school in Ghana. The project seeks to provide literacy and musical education, preserve cultural heritage and give Ghanaian youth new creative opportunities.
