EPP challenges Eneva and Global in Aneel energy auction dispute

Evolution Power Partners (EPP) has requested that the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) disregard documents submitted by Eneva and Global Participações em Energia regarding a capacity reserve auction. EPP claims that Eneva and Global submitted their responses to the disqualification appeal of the ION consortiums after the established deadline.

The dispute centers on the disqualification of the ION consortiums, which won thermal power projects totaling 1,685 MW. The Permanent Auction Commission recommended disqualification because the submitted documents allegedly failed to prove the required economic-financial capacity, citing potential double-counting of assets across multiple companies.

While Eneva presented a KPMG analysis to support its position, EPP contests the scope of this work, stating it did not audit the ION consortiums' accounting records. A final decision on the appeal rests with Aneel's collegiate board.
