EPP Women Autumn Academy held in Athens to discuss European challenges

Athens hosted the EPP Women Autumn Academy from September 17 to 19, centered on the theme ‘Leveraging the Power of Women.’ The event brought together representatives from the Greek and European political scenes, including members of the Greek government and European Parliamentarians.

Maria Syrengela, a Member of Parliament for West Athens and representative of New Democracy, organized the academy in Greece. She emphasized that women's empowerment is not solely a women's issue but is critical to the economy, social cohesion, democracy, and Europe's ability to face modern challenges.

The forum served as a platform to discuss various European challenges, including economic competitiveness, labor market prospects, security and defense, digital transition, food security, and demographic issues. Vice President Kostis Hatzidakis also addressed the assembly, highlighting the importance of utilizing Europe's human potential to address contemporary crises.
