Eppelborn house fire destroys residence and damages neighbor

A single-family home in the Dirmingen district of Eppelborn was completely destroyed by a fire early Saturday morning. The blaze, which occurred between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM, spread to the roof of an adjacent building.

Emergency services issued warnings via disaster protection apps due to heavy smoke development. While the fire was largely contained by 6:17 AM, firefighting efforts continued into the morning. No injuries to residents or emergency responders have been reported, though property damage is estimated to be in the six-figure euro range. Police have launched an investigation into the cause, which remains unknown, and are seeking witnesses.

Traffic disruptions in the Lebacher Straße area were expected to continue through the afternoon due to ongoing cleanup and safety measures.
