Eppendorf launches updated Centrifuge 5811 R

Eppendorf has announced the launch of the Centrifuge 5811 R, an updated refrigerated, multipurpose benchtop centrifuge designed for diverse laboratory workflows. Building upon the performance of the previous Centrifuge 5810 R, the new model features a refreshed user interface, a new design, and updated cooling technology.

The Centrifuge 5811 R utilizes R290 propane as a refrigerant, which has a global warming potential of 0.02 and an ozone depletion potential of 0, aimed at supporting laboratory sustainability goals. Energy-saving features include ECO shut-off, energy-efficient FastTemp, and aerodynamic bucket designs to reduce power consumption.

Technical specifications include a capacity of up to 3 L and speeds reaching 20,913 x g (14,000 rpm). The system supports various vessel types through a portfolio of 15 rotors and multiple adapters, including swing-bucket and fixed-angle rotors. It is intended for applications such as the harvesting and processing of cells, bacteria, yeast, algae, and other microorganisms.
