Epping Ongar Railway featured in Practical Magic 2
The Epping Ongar Railway in Essex has been featured in the upcoming Hollywood production Practical Magic 2, a sequel to the 1998 film. The project, which commenced in January 2025, utilized both the Essex countryside and Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden for filming.
Production involved a 1960s British Rail Mark 1 coach, a heritage carriage that remains in regular use on the line. One of the railway’s carriages was transported to the studio to be used as a set. The film stars Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, and Joey King. Visitors to the railway can now ride in the same carriage featured in the production.
