EPR begins highway infrastructure works in Minas Gerais

Concessionaire EPR has launched several infrastructure projects on highways in Minas Gerais, Brazil, aimed at improving safety and traffic flow.

On the BR-040, EPR Via Mineira has begun vegetation removal between kilometers 602 and 612 near the Profeta Viaduct. This is part of a duplication project that includes earthmoving, drainage, paving, and the installation of new structures. The expansion intends to add physical barriers, emergency shoulders, marginal lanes, a cycle path, and a new pedestrian walkway at kilometer 607. Future works are planned for the Macaquinhos Stream bridge, the Maranhão River bridge, and a railway viaduct.

On the BR-459, EPR Sul de Minas has started constructing two new U-turn devices in the municipalities of Congonhal and Senador José Bento. These interventions, located near kilometers 79 and 82, are part of a requalification package designed to improve accessibility and safety for all vehicle types, including heavy freight trucks. The project involves an investment of approximately R$ 4 million and is expected to be completed by the first half of 2027.
