EPR group conducts road safety campaigns and highway maintenance in Brazil

The EPR group is conducting extensive road safety and awareness initiatives across Minas Gerais and Paraná in observance of National Traffic Week. The campaign, part of the Conviver Program, includes over 80 actions focused on the ‘basic safety combo’ of adhering to speed limits and using seat belts.

Data from the last 12 months indicates that 64% of accidents could be avoided through more prudent driving. Furthermore, analysis of fatal accidents showed that 42.3% of victims were not wearing seat belts, compared to only 7.1% among non-fatal injury victims, highlighting the device's role in reducing accident severity.

Simultaneously, EPR Via Mineira is performing maintenance and pavement requalification services on the BR-040 highway. Works are scheduled across several locations, including Belo Horizonte, Itabirito, Congonhas, and Barbacena. These activities involve pavement improvements, signage reinforcement, and drainage maintenance. In Congonhas, vegetation removal is also underway as a preliminary step for the first phase of the BR-040 duplication project.
