EPR Participações announces major Brazilian highway investments and certifications
EPR Participações and its subsidiary, EPR Litoral Pioneiro, are advancing infrastructure management and investment projects in Brazil. EPR Litoral Pioneiro has received a recommendation for ISO 55001 certification, an international standard for asset management systems. This follows an audit by TECPAR Cert that confirmed the maturity of the company’s management systems for the 605 kilometers of highways it administers in Paraná, including access routes to the Port of Paranaguá.
Additionally, EPR Participações is preparing a R$ 7.2 billion investment program for the Régis Bittencourt Highway (BR-116), which connects Curitiba to São Paulo. The contract, valid until 2041, includes plans for 69 kilometers of road duplication, the implementation of marginal roads, urban bypasses, and infrastructure recovery. While the investment aims to improve safety and capacity, transport industry representatives, such as SETCEPAR, emphasize that the success of the project depends on addressing critical bottlenecks like the Serra do Cafezal and improving road geometry in high-congestion areas.
