Epsilor begins production of 4.4 kWh military lithium-ion battery
Epsilor Electric Fuel has commenced full production of its Combatt ELI-52526-GM lithium-ion battery, a 4.4 kWh unit designed for military applications. The battery utilizes the standardized NATO 6T form factor and provides 174 Ah of capacity.
Designed to meet US Army MIL-PRF-32565C requirements, the ruggedized battery is intended for use in armored vehicles, mobile command posts, tactical shelters, and autonomous power systems. A primary function is to support “silent-watch” operations, allowing vehicles to power sensors, communications, and electronic warfare systems while the engine is turned off. This capability aims to reduce fuel consumption, maintenance needs, and the acoustic and thermal signatures of military platforms.
CEO Ronen Badichi stated that the company expedited production due to growing demand for higher energy 6T batteries among defense customers. The battery is also compatible with modern hybrid vehicle architectures and high-power military payloads.
