Equans acquires highways technology specialist Mway Communications

Equans UK & Ireland has acquired Mway Communications, a specialist in highways technology and communications infrastructure. The acquisition is intended to expand Equans’ capabilities across the UK’s Strategic Road Network (SRN).

Mway Communications employs approximately 100 people and generates an annual revenue of £26 million. The company provides services to National Highways and tier one contractors, including electrical engineering, street lighting, traffic signals, inductive loop installation, and highways civil engineering.

Through this deal, Equans aims to integrate Mway’s expertise in connected infrastructure, operational technology, and communications networks into its existing digital infrastructure, energy, and asset-management operations. Mway Managing Director Stephen Crawford and Relationship Director Lee Day will join Equans as part of the transaction. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
