Equatorial Alagoas warns against illegal electoral propaganda on power infrastructure

Equatorial Alagoas has issued an alert regarding the illegal use of electrical infrastructure for electoral propaganda. Candidates and those responsible for irregular campaign materials may be required to remove them and restore property within 48 hours, facing fines ranging from R$ 2,000 to R$ 8,000.

In addition to violating electoral laws, attaching materials to utility poles or energy meters can cause accidents, power interruptions, and consumer issues. Specifically, placing stickers on energy meters can obstruct readings. If a meter cannot be read due to obstruction, bills may be issued based on the average consumption of the last 12 months. According to Aneel regulations, if access to the meter is persistently blocked for three months, electricity supply may be suspended.
