Equatorial Maranhão unveils energy security plan for 2026 elections
Equatorial Maranhão has presented an operational plan to the Regional Electoral Court of Maranhão (TRE-MA) to ensure continuous electricity supply during the first round of the 2026 elections on October 4.
The strategy includes preventive maintenance and inspections of networks serving electoral offices, voting locations, and data transmission sites. To support the process, the company will deploy 877 professionals, including engineers, technicians, and electricians, organized into 174 strategic teams across the state.
A representative from the distributor will be present at the TRE-MA headquarters in São Luís throughout the election day and counting process. Additionally, the Integrated Operations Center will provide continuous network monitoring, with the ability to perform remote maneuvers to isolate faults and transfer loads to maintain service.
