EQuest and Standard Chartered to mobilize $325 million for Vietnam education

EQuest Education Group, EQuest Capital, and Standard Chartered Bank (New York branch) have signed a memorandum of understanding to mobilize up to $325 million in international capital for educational projects in Vietnam. The agreement was signed in New York on September 23, during the official working visit of General Secretary and President To Lam.

Standard Chartered will serve as a strategic partner to structure and arrange financial packages. The funds will be channeled through EQuest Capital to invest in infrastructure and educational quality improvements, with Ho Chi Minh City identified as a key location.

Planned investments include the construction of university campuses focusing on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, robotics, semiconductors, and industrial systems engineering. Additionally, the capital will support the expansion of international university partnerships, the development of international schools, private K-12 systems, and educational technology (edtech) platforms. Standard Chartered also intends to research and provide credit products and foreign exchange management services for international experts and faculty working in Vietnam.
