Tech companies expand infrastructure to support AI growth

Major technology firms are expanding infrastructure to support the growing demands of artificial intelligence, specifically focusing on AI inference and distributed connectivity.

Equinix has announced two major initiatives: Equinix Inference Exchange, developed with NVIDIA and Together AI to deploy AI inference closer to data and users, and Equinix Fabric One, a managed connectivity service. Fabric One aims to automate connections across cloud, AI, and enterprise environments, utilizing open connectivity specifications from AWS and Google Cloud.

In the hardware and computing sector, AMD is pushing for “personal AI” with its Ryzen AI Halo, designed to run large AI models locally on devices to address privacy and cost concerns. Additionally, ASUS is expanding its AI infrastructure ecosystem through collaborations with Intel and AMD to target workloads across data centers and edge environments.

On the networking side, HPE and Oracle have deepened their collaboration to deploy HPE Juniper Networking across Oracle’s global AI data centers, aiming to provide the scale and performance required for large GPU clusters and AI superclusters.
