Equinor awards Proserv contract for Dudgeon wind farm monitoring

Equinor has awarded Proserv a contract to deploy advanced cable monitoring technology at the 402 MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm, located approximately 32 kilometers off the north Norfolk coast in the UK. The deployment, scheduled to begin in 2027, will utilize Proserv’s ECG™ technology to provide continuous visibility into the health of cables and terminations.

The project will also incorporate Distributed Electrical Sensing (DES) technology. By utilizing existing fiber infrastructure and passive sensing, DES provides high-fidelity current and voltage measurements across the network. This combination is intended to facilitate a shift from reactive to proactive asset management, allowing for the earlier identification of electrical faults, reduced risk of unplanned outages, and more efficient maintenance strategies for the critical renewable energy infrastructure.
