Equinox Gold positions for growth amid rising global gold demand

Global gold demand reached 2,522 tonnes in the first half of 2026, representing a 2% increase compared to the previous year. According to the World Gold Council, central banks were significant drivers of this trend, purchasing a net 289 tonnes in the second quarter alone.

Over the last four years, central banks have increased their gold holdings by an average of approximately 1,000 tonnes per year, doubling the average rate seen in the preceding decade. In a 2026 survey, 89% of respondents expected global gold reserves to rise over the next twelve months.

Following a recent merger, Equinox Gold Corp. is positioned to benefit from these structural demand factors, entering a phase characterized by higher production and a stronger balance sheet.
