Equity Bancshares to acquire Lincoln Bancorp in $123M Iowa expansion

Equity Bancshares has agreed to merge with Lincoln Bancorp, the parent company of Lincoln Savings Bank, in a transaction valued at approximately $123 million to $123.8 million. The deal is intended to expand Equity’s presence in Iowa by adding 16 branches across central and northeast Iowa, including locations in Des Moines, Waterloo, and Cedar Falls.

Under the terms of the agreement, Lincoln shareholders are expected to receive a combination of Equity stock and cash. The merger is projected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. Following the close, Lincoln Savings Bank is slated to convert to Equity Bank’s systems in the second quarter of 2027.

The combined entity is expected to hold approximately $9.1 billion in total assets after adjusting for excess liquidity. Equity Bancshares anticipates the transaction will be accretive to earnings per share by roughly 5.1% in 2027 and 7.5% in 2028.
